Nur eine schmale Gasse, das sogenannte Ecksteing\u00e4sschen, trennt das zweigeschossige, schlicht wirkende Geb\u00e4ude von seinem s\u00fcdlichen Nachbarhaus.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Errichtet wurde das Haus in der zweiten H\u00e4lfte des 16. Jahrhunderts. \u00dcber Jahrhunderte diente es als Handwerkerhaus und beherbergte eine Gerberei mit Wohnbereich. Mehrfach wurde das Geb\u00e4ude im Laufe seiner Geschichte umgebaut und ver\u00e4ndert. Seine heute schlichte \u00e4u\u00dfere Erscheinung erhielt es vermutlich bei Modernisierungen in der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts.<\/div>\n<div>Seinen Namen verdankt das Haus einem Besitzerwechsel im Jahr 1840. Eine historische Urkunde belegt, dass der Rotgerber Marquard Berger das Anwesen am 30. April 1840 mit Zustimmung seiner Frau Viktoria an Jakob Ott aus Nittenau, den sp\u00e4teren Lederermeister von Kallm\u00fcnz, verkaufte. Seitdem ist das Geb\u00e4ude als \u201eOtt-Haus\u201c, fr\u00fcher auch als \u201eBergerhaus\u201c, letzte Besitzerin das Geb\u00e4ude 2020 der Marktgemeinde Kallm\u00fcnz. Trotz einer geplanten Ver\u00e4u\u00dferung durch die Marktgemeinde Kallm\u00fcnz entstand 2020 die Idee, das Geb\u00e4ude als Kreativ- und Kulturort f\u00fcr Kallm\u00fcnz zu erhalten.<\/div>\n<div>Was zun\u00e4chst wie eine Vision erschien, entwickelte sich zu einem f\u00fcnfj\u00e4hrigen Prozess intensiver ehrenamtlicher Arbeit und \u00dcberzeugungsarbeit gegen\u00fcber Politik und Verwaltung. Geplant ist ein einfacher Ausbaustandard bei gr\u00f6\u00dftm\u00f6glichem Erhalt der historischen Ausstattung und Oberfl\u00e4chen. Der gewachsene Grundriss soll dabei nicht \u00fcberformt, sondern als Teil der Geschichte des Hauses sichtbar und erlebbar bleiben.<\/div>\n<div>Der Verein \u201eFreunde des Ott-Hauses e.V.\u201c nimmt sich dieser anspruchsvollen und kostenintensiven Aufgabe mit gro\u00dfem ehrenamtlichem Engagement an. Ziel ist es, das Geb\u00e4ude dauerhaft zu sichern und ihm eine neue, \u00f6ffentliche Bedeutung zu geben.<\/div>\n<div>Aus einem ehemaligen Handwerkerhaus soll ein offener Ort f\u00fcr Kunst, Kultur und Begegnung werden \u2013 ein Dritter Ort mitten in Kallm\u00fcnz.<\/div>\n<div>Das Ott-Haus verbindet damit Vergangenheit und Zukunft: Es bewahrt die Spuren eines Hauses aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und \u00f6ffnet sie zugleich f\u00fcr neue Ideen, k\u00fcnstlerische Arbeit, Austausch und Begegnung.
